Super Bowl Preview and my BIG PICK!!!

It's hard to believe that a few short months ago we all were wondering if there would be an NFL season.

We were wondering what we would do with our Sundays. What sports radio hosts would talk about. Whether the UFL would gain legitimacy (Yeah, right!).

But in the end, it's the first weekend of February and as always, the big question is: Who will be the NFL's champion?

This year, the New England Patriots and the New York Giants earned their way into the big game. While many don't believe the best teams are in, an argument for these two is very easy.

The Pats held the best record in the AFC, and although I believe Baltimore got ripped off and actually beat them two weeks ago, they did what they were meant to.

Meanwhile, the G-men have been the most complete team for some time. They had a top NFC record early on, got injured at key positions and lost four straight, and then got healthy (and hot) and showed why they were so good in the first place.

Now we have the game and it's time to make picks. I should note that in picking winners straight-up, lifetime I am 10-5. Against the spread, I'm 12-3 but been on a two-pick skid. That should change here.

When analyzing the game, to me it comes down to a level of toughness. Nothing that the Patriots throw at the Giants will  phase Eli Manning.

Where this game will be decided is in the match of Pats' offensive line vs. Giants' defensive line. Tom Brady is notorious for folding like a cheap suit if he takes too many hits and is about as mobile as a tennis ball shooting machine.

If the Giants are motivated, they'll get to him and the game goes in their favor. If they play like they did against Seattle this year, Brady will run wild on them.

In any case, the game will be close. My prediction is for the Giants to win straight-up, which means that they win against the spread as well, as they are +3 in Vegas right now.

Hope everyone enjoys the game!
